Australian Cricketer David Warner

David Warner was born on 27 October 1986. He is an Australian cricketer and former captain of the Australian national team. A left-arm opener, Warner is the first Australian cricketer in 132 years to be selected for a national team in any format without first-class cricket experience. He plays for New South Wales and Sydney Thunder in domestic cricket. He was Australia’s vice-captain for the Test and ODI formats between 2015 and 2018.

Early Life of David Warner

It’s not a big deal for David Warner. One who opened his eyes and grew up in a housing company in Matraville, South Sydney. One thing that was always at the forefront of young Warney’s mind was cricket as he spent much of his youth on the cricket field. Young David Warner realized that his parents could not afford his cricket expenses> so from the beginning he had to take care of him in any way that would affect his parents’ pocket.

By purchasing the SS Jumbo as his first bat, Warney unleashed this beast on match days. He knew that if he was destroyed, there would be no chance that he would find a replacement soon. Test Career

After repeated good performances in T20s and the regional circuit, David Warner finally got his shortstop Test cap after his successful Champions League campaign. David Warner made his Test debut against neighbors New Zealand in December 2011. Fortunately, Shane Watson, who had an injured season in Australia, gives way to David Warner.

Performance at bat is not impressive for a beginner. In the second Test against New Zealand, Warner batted. Warner was Australia’s only survivor who scored 123 in Australia’s 23-run total. Warner could not save this game for Australia. He also became the sixth batter in the history of the game to get into the fourth round of a Test match. Warner was selected for the 2015 Ashes, he scored a total of 418 runs without scoring a century, becoming the series’ fourth leading scorer.

The next series against India is a miserable series for David Warner as a test batsman. His fourth fastest century in 69 balls against India at the Western Australia Cricket Association Stadium became the highest score by a senior in Test cricket. He scored 180 off 159 deliveries before getting out off Ishant Sharma’s delivery attempting another six.

Warner has amassed a total of 16 centuries so far, his highest score in the test came against New Zealand when he scored 253. It was also his fourth consecutive century in four innings against New Zealand during the body. After scoring the double century in Perth, David Warner also became the second opener in cricket history to score three consecutive centuries twice in his international career. His strong technique and unexpected position allows him to challenge the bowler.

David Warner is always seen ahead when it comes to fast bowling, he is one of the few Australian players who can handle any attack in the world, from Ajantha Mendis and Ashwin to Saeed Ajmal and Yasir Shah. His famous switch shot is the deadliest weapon in his arsenal.

David Warner’s ODI career

David Warner’s record in ODIs is not well known for his constant inclusion in ODI teams. He then went to the department. After an unsuccessful campaign in the ODI series in 2009 against South Africa, his first notable performance in ODI cricket came against Srilanka on 4 March 2012.

Numbers are sometimes misleading. Here are Warner’s figures in T20Is. Although he has played 81 games so far, Warner has only 2265 points which is below what he can achieve. He maintained a breathing capacity of nearly 140, and when he retired, he also hoped to run some races.

David Warner Awards and Honors

Warner is the fourth player to win the Allan Border Medal more than once and also received the award the following year. He won it in 2016 and 2017. He also received the Australian ODI Player of the Year award in 2017.

In 2019, Warner won the famous “Orange Cap” for his batting exploits in the IPL. Then in 2020, the Aussie fly-half won his third Alan Border medal after a miraculous performance in the 2019 World Cup and summer home tests.

In November 2021, Warner was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ for his instrumental role with the bat in Australia’s winning campaign.
