Ben Stokes
Ben Stokes is an English cricketer born in New Zealand. He was born on June 4, 1991 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Today he is a British citizen and a member of the England national cricket team.
Ben Stokes’ goals and strength have convinced England players that this man can replace Sir Ian Botham and Andrew Flintoff in the near future. He is one of the hardest hitting batsmen in cricket and is England’s go-to bowler.
His departure has won his team games. Everything is a perfect package and someone was really born to play the game. He rises to the challenge and despite taking the cleaners from the opposition, he has shown that he can run but is a bowler who takes wickets. Sir Ian Botham praised him saying that Ben Stokes was truly a box office hit.
son of rugby player and manager Gerard Stokes, known as ‘Ged Stokes’, from an English mother. Ben, 12, came to the North West of England when Ben’s father Ged became manager of Workington Rugby League Club. It was Ben’s passion for cricket and rugby that helped him adapt to the Cumbrian lifestyle.
Cockermouth Cricket Club was helped by Ben’s rapidly growing skills, helping them join the North Lancashire and Cumbria Cricket League in 2006. He won the North Lancashire and Cumbria Cricket League Premier League titles with the club in 2006 at the age of 15. His parents returned to New Zealand to live in Christchurch again Ged Stokes died in New Zealand on December 8, 2020 from brain cancer.

Carrer in Test
Ben Stokes made his Test debut against Australia at the Adelaide Oval on 5 December 2013, during the Ashes series. He is the 658th player to represent England at Test level. He holds the record for reaching the second fastest Test double hundred. He also holds the record for fastest 250 runs (in 196 balls). He scored the fastest test run while fighting his way to sixth place. Overall, he scored 3,125 runs in 52 matches at an average of 33.89, with two hundreds (258), six hundreds and 17 fifties. In the bowling department, he has 127 wickets under his name at an average of 31.92. He has four wicket runs and best bowling figures of 6 for 22.
ODI Carrer of Ben stokes
Stokes made his ODI debut against Ireland on 25 August 2011. In 2012, Stokes did not play any matches for the England cricket team due to injuries, lack of form and other disciplinary issues. Stokes was selected for the ODI squad again in the first ODI against West Indies in 2014.
Later that year, Stokes was in the squad for the series against India. He had a chance to play in the last game of the series. In this match, in addition to 33 runs, he took 3 wickets. Brilliant with bat and ball in the ODI series against New Zealand in 2015. He took 3 wickets for 52 carries. Stokes went on to score half-centuries in the first and third matches against South Africa in the ODI series. Stokes scored two consecutive fifties against India in 2016-17. Ben Stokes’ brilliant performance in the 2017 Champions Trophy earned him the nomination for the ‘Team of the Tournament’. For his performance, the ICC invited him to the World ODI for 2017 and 2018. In April 2019, Ben Stokes was selected to represent England at the 2019 World Cup.
Stokes helped make England world champions, especially in the final. Stokes scored an unbeaten 84 to help level the match, then hit a super over again, but England won the boundary rule. He was named in the team of the tournament by the ICC.
IPL Carrer
During the 2017 IPL Player Auction, Rising Pune Supergiant acquired Ben Stokes for Rs 14.5 crore. He made his IPL debut against Mumbai Indians at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on April 6, 2017. He scored his first IPL cent against the Gujarat Lions in his first IPL season and was named Man of the Match a record three times in 14 matches before leaving for national duty. During the IPL Player Auction 2018, he was offered Rs 12.5 crore by Rajasthan Royals but he turned down the offer for the Jaipur-based franchise last year.
Overall, he scored 635 runs in 34 matches at an average of 22.67 and a strike rate of 132.01, with one century and fifty. In the bowling department, he picked up 26 wickets, conceding more than 8.25 runs per match, his average being 31.07.
World Cup 2019
On July 14, 2019, Ben Stokes had every feeling a person could have. Ben Stokes bowled the last ball with two required as England reached the Super Over. He returned to bat during the super over, scoring eight runs in three balls to ensure that England scored 15 runs in one innings.
New Zealand managed to win 15 to 16 but lost the final on penalty kicks. England were declared the winners, with Ben Stokes being named Man of the Match. In the World Cup, Stokes also hit five fifties and was the man who made the difference after the innings.
