Rani Rampal -Captain of Indian women’s Hockey Team

Rani Rampal is an Indian hockey player and the current captain of the Indian women’s hockey team. She made her hockey debut at the age of just 14, making her the youngest player in the Indian women’s hockey team. At 15, She was the youngest national hockey player to participate in the 2010 World Cup.

She played as a midfielder in his team and played 241 international games and scored 118 goals so far. Rani is regarded as one of the best women’s hockey players in the world and is also known as a striker who mainly plays in the midfield.

Biography of Rani Rampal

Rani Rampal was born on the 4th day of December 1994 in Markanda Shahbad of Kurukshetra district in the state of Haryana. So the hockey player joined Guru Baldev Singh famous hockey school in his hometown Shahbad at the age of 9. He was quickly selected for the GoSports team.

It should be mentioned here that GoSports Foundation is an NGO that provides support to eligible athletes. Rani Rampal participated in the Champion’s Challenge in June 2009 in Kazan, Russia where India won by four wickets in the final. Rani was named ‘Top Goalscorer’ and ‘Young Player of the Tournament’. Rani also helped win the silver medal for the Indian team in the Asian Games held in November 2009.

Rani Rampal was included in the FIH Women’s All Star Team in 2010 based on her performance in the Indian National Team at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and 2010 Asian Games.

She was included in the All Asia Hockey Team for his performance in the game. 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou where the Indian team finished fourth. Rani Rampal is considered to be a leading figure in women’s hockey.

The following year, Rani Rampal, at the age of 15, was the youngest Indian player to appear in the 12th edition of the Women’s World Cup 2010 held in the city of Rosario in Argentina from August 29 to September 11, 2010. Rani Rampal scored seven goals which was a factor.

India finished ninth in the women’s hockey world rankings, the best since 1978. Rani Rampal was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ at the 2013 Junior World Cup as India finished with a bronze medal. Rani was nominated for the FICCI Comeback of the Year award in 2014.

Her Carrer

In the final of the Champion’s Challenge, held in Kazan, Russia, in June 2009, Rani led India to victory by scoring four wickets. He was named the tournament’s young player and top scorer. She played a key role in Team India winning the silver medal in the Asia Cup in November 2009.

Rani Rampal was selected for the FIH Women’s All-Star Team in 2010 after participating in the Indian national team at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and 2010 Asian Games. . He received a nomination for Young Player of the Year. Based on his performance at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, She was also named to the Asian Hockey League team.

She scored seven goals in the 2010 Women’s World Cup, which was held in Rosario, Argentina, leading India to the 10th position in the world rankings. Since 1978, India has not done better than this. He was the only Indian to be nominated for the 2010 FIH Young Player of the Year award.

At the 2010 Women’s World Cup, she was awarded the Top Young Player award in recognition of her outstanding performance as the tournament’s top scorer. It seems as if one of his dreams came true when he received the Arjuna Award in 2016.

In 2013, India won the bronze medal at the Junior World Cup, where they were named the Player of the Tournament. He was awarded the FICCI Comeback of the Year award in 2014. She led India to their first bronze medal in the Junior World Cup in 2013.

She participated in the 2017 Asian Women’s Cup and won the tournament for the second time that year in Kakamigahara, Japan. The trophy was first introduced in 2004, so they were selected to participate in the 2018 World Cup.

She captained the Indian women’s hockey team at the 2018 Asian Games, leading them to a silver medal. He also carried the Indian flag during the closing ceremony. He was hired by the Sports Authority of India as an assistant coach.

Rani was named “Young Player of the Tournament” at the 2010 World Cup and 2013 Junior World Cup, and later helped the team win bronze at the 2014 Asian Games. Under his leadership, the team won the silver medal in Asia in 2018 and qualified for the quarterfinals of the World Cup.

She was the flag bearer for the Indian Army at the closing ceremony of the Asian Games in Jakarta in 2018. That same year, the team finished fourth in the Commonwealth Games. In 2016, he received the Arjuna Prize. Also, in 2020, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India.
