Biography of Vandana Katariya
Vandana Katariya was born on April 15, 1992 in Roshanabad Haridwar Uttar Pradesh (now Uttrakhand).
Vandana’s father, Nahar Singh, works as a technician at Bharat Heavy Electrician Limited. He came from a good background and is the best player in the current Indian set-up.
He made his junior debut in 2006 with his consistent and poor performance at the junior level leading to a promotion to the senior level and later making his Indian debut in 2010. Since then there has been a return to the attacker.

At 29, Katariya is a veteran of the Indian hockey team with 245 appearances, less than captain Rani Rampal. With 67 goals to his name, only Captain Rampal has scored more goals for the Indian team in recent events.
Katariya’s first appearance on the national stage was in 2006 when he was selected for the junior national football team. In four years, he was able to rise to the top and win his first choice. But Katariya’s first career win came in 2013 when he helped India win the bronze medal at the 2013 World Cup, where he was also the top scorer.
A year later at the Commonwealth Games, he made his 100th appearance for the Indian team and was the winner of the Hockey India Player of the Year award in 2014. Building on a successful year, Katariya scored 11 goals as India won the second round of the 2014-15 FIH World Hockey League.
In 2016, when the Indian team qualified for the Olympics after more than three decades, Katariya played a key role and was part of the senior team in Rio.
