Nitish Rana is a great Indian cricketer and left-handed Batman. He plays for the Delhi Ranji team and is the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. He is also famous for his boxing. When he was young, he had various records.

Early life of Nitish Rana

Nitish Rana was born on December 27, 1993 to Dara Singh Rana and Satish Rana in Bijwasan, Delhi, India. Her father is a math teacher by profession. He also has an older brother named Ashish Rana who is married. Nitish started his schooling at DAV Centenary Public School and later joined Vidya Jain School. From 2008 to 2010 he played for the same school.

Domestic Carrer

Nitish Rana made his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy in 2016 and scored 557 runs during the season with an average of 50.63 and became one of the highest scorers in the Delhi team. He scored 299 runs at an average of 42.71 and a strike rate of 175. 88 in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2016.

Rana became the 2nd top scorer in Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2016. While playing against Andhra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match, he led Delhi to 236 for 9 and 20 in another 40-run stand with the top 4 batsmen returning to the dugout. Rana showed his will again when Delhi dropped three points short of 10 points. He hit 53 off just 29 balls, helping his team chase down the Baroda tally of 153.

While playing against Jharkhand, he surprised everyone with 60 unbeaten innings scoring just 44 in a situation where Delhi lost the first 3 wickets for just 14 runs. Delhi went on to enjoy a 5 wicket win in the match after Rana’s great support.

After his first IPL season, Nitish Rana in Ranji’s 2017-18 season scored 613 runs in 8 matches at an average of 55.72. In October 2018, he was named in the India A team for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy.

After a stint in domestic cricket in one league, in June 2021 he received a call-up for his T20 and ODI debut for India.
