Biography of Anil Kumble
Anil Kumble was born on 17-10-1970 in Bangalore in the state of Karnataka in India. She is an Indian cricket coach, cricket commentator and former cricketer who played as a leg-spinner.
Anil Kumble is one of the best cricketers in India. He became the first player in the world after England’s Jim Laker to take 10 wickets in one leg in Test cricket. Kumble became the first Indian and the second Indian player to break the 200-wicket mark in international cricket. He played as a batsman in the first cricket match.
Therefore, his image began to become that of a boxer. In the match against Pakistan in the 1990 match, he scored 113 in Delhi. He is the first player to take 500 wickets for India. Anil Kumble received the “Arjuna Prize” in 1995.
His Carrer
He started his career as a middle batsman who became a right-handed batsman. His style of playing football is impeccable and he is well known for his bowling. He made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in 1990 and made his Test debut on the tour of England in the same year. His reputation as a brilliant batsman came when India toured South Africa in 1992 and Kumble took eight wickets in the second Test.
Later that year, he took 21 wickets in just three Tests against England at home. He took his first 50 wickets in just 10 matches and became India’s fastest bowler till date. He also holds the record of being the second Indian bowler to reach 100 Test wickets. His run of 6 wickets for 12 runs by an Indian bowler against Sri Lanka would not be broken for another 10 years. Kumble’s form in Tests got him selected for the World Cup in 1996 and since then he has played for the Indian ODI team.
His record 10 wickets in a Test match against Pakistan in 1999 is only the second of his kind. In 2004, he became only the third Test cricketer and the second Indian to take 400 Test wickets. In 2004, he again became India’s highest wicket-taker. He also holds the record for most catches and throws.
As a shooter, his average is very modest, but he is known for his prowess as a shooter. His bowling skills made him one of the best batsmen in India. Anil Kumble announced his retirement from international cricket in 2008. He continues to be involved in the game. He is a part of IPL as a player and consultant. He retired from the IPL series in 2015 and is now the head coach of the Indian cricket team.

He is from Bangalore, Karnataka Krishna Swamy and his parents Saroja from Kumbla near Kasaragod, Kerala. He was named Apple and Jumbo and was selected as Cricketer of the Year in 1993 Indian Cricket.
He is married to Chetana Kumble and has three children – son Mayas Kumble and daughters Aaruni and Svasti Kumble. His mother tongue is Kannada.
His primary school was Holy Saint English School and he did his secondary education at National High School Basavanagudi.
