Early life

In February 2020, du Plessis became the leading all-rounder in the game. In the Indian T20 League, du Plessis has been a reliable performer for Chennai. Notable among the many spectacular hits for the franchise was his 67* (42) in the Qualifier 1 against Hyderabad which catapulted Chennai to the final and ultimately their third title in 2018.
The South African board has yet to offer Faf du Plessis a central contract until 2021 despite being in white-ball cricket. Faf has been released to pursue a place in T20 tournaments around the world as he remains eligible to play for South Africa in the upcoming ICC event.
