Who is Alex Carey

Alex Carey is currently a wicketkeeper-batsman for the Australian men’s cricket team in the Test and ODI series and plays for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League (BBL).

Alex Carey Carrer

Alex Carey started his career in Australian football. He also led his team in 2010. After being sidelined in 2012, he started playing cricket. His innings in the new game did not start as he wanted. However, he lost his contract with South Australia in the 2013-14 season. From the wood, he decided to improve another skill, so he wore a protective suit. After playing good cricket till the 2015-16 season, he was finally inducted into his state level team.

During the 2016-17 national season, he scored more than 500 goals and affected 50 dismissals. This performance from the selector caught the eye and there was a chance as Matthew Wade’s form began to decline. He was later included in the Australian squad when England toured Australia in 2018.

Since then he has been a regular member of Australia’s ODI and T20I squads. After an impressive performance in T20I cricket, he was also appointed as the vice-captain of the Australian T20 team. It was a close call between him and Peter Handscomb for a place in the 2019 World Cup squad. Finally, he got the opportunity to represent Australia in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

T20I debut

After an impressive performance on the National Tour, Carey was selected for the Trans-Tasman Series and made his T20I debut for Australia against New Zealand on February 3, 2018. In the first match, he hit two wickets behind the stumps, catch nicks. Ross Taylor and Colin Munro.

He came to bat when the Australian team was already at home so he wasn’t facing the ball but he wasn’t there. In his short T20 career, Carey played 30 T20Is and became an integral part of the Australian team in the closest format.
